The Experience
Boondocks sits on 120 acres of mature pine and oak along the edge of the Black Hills. There are no trailers, no stages, no crowded pull-throughs. Just trees, fire pits, and the kind of darkness at night that makes you remember what stars actually look like.
Full hookups — water, electric, and sewer — on gravel pads nestled between mature pines. Sites are spacious and private, with room to spread out and a fire ring at each spot.
Shaded sites among the pines with flat, well-drained ground. Each tent spot includes a fire ring and a clearing large enough for two tents. Bring your own gear — everything else is here.
Every site has a stone fire ring. Gather wood nearby or bring your own. After dark, the sky opens up — no streetlights, no glow. Just the Milky Way hanging low over the pines.
Miles of hiking and mountain biking trails weave through the property and connect to surrounding Black Hills national forest land. Deer, turkeys, and elk are regular visitors at dawn.

“The best camping I’ve done in the Black Hills. No complaints, no noise, just trees.”

Location
We sit at the edge of the Black Hills, about 30 minutes north of Rapid City. The drive in is on a maintained county road — no four-wheel drive needed, but your phone will lose service somewhere past the tree line. That’s the point.
